Keibul Lamjao National Park

Description:: The Keibul Lamjao National Park, one of the two national park in Manipur, is set around the famous Loktak Lake which is the largest fresh water lake in the north-east. Large areas of this lake are covered with thick matted weeds, making it the perfect place to harbour water birds. The best time to visit here is between February to April. For accommodation there is a tourist lodge.

Prominent Birds: Water birds like the pheasant can be seen here.

Prominent Animals: Animals like the brow-antlered deer, wild goat the rare sangai or Manipuri dancing deer are sheltered in this sanctuary.

Best time to visit: The best time to visit the Keibul Lamjao is from February to April.
